Adoption Paperwork
By sandi | October 14, 2007
Many are surprised that we are always working on paperwork. I wanted to document all the stuff we got done this week.
*Wrote our letter of Introduction to Ethiopia expressing our desire to adopt there.
*We completed our autobiographies, mine was 6 pages and Bill’s was 7 pages
*Mailed the I-600 certified, (which is the petition to classify an orphan as a immediate relative)
*Bill got certified copies of all the birth certificates and marriage liscense.
*Mailed reference letters to our 5 references, (big thank you to those folks)
*Completed and mailed in our CPS form, (making sure we have never been investigated)
*Figured out our pertinent info and completed our Financial Declaration for Adoption
*Typed up Bill’s salary verification letter that needs to be signed and notarized.
*Typed up power of attorney for CHI to handle our adoption in Ethiopia while we are here
*Completed our homestudy 8 page application
*Subscribed to Tadias Magazine, (ethnic magazine www.tadias.com )
*Signed up for our 16 hour adoption preparation class
So much more to do next week!

See you do have to go through the pregnancy and labor- just in paper. I do not know if I could do it all! More power to the both of you. You are very strong people with a desire that will never stop! Your little boy will be very lucky to have you as parents and a family. If you ever need me to watch the girls so that you can get something done- let me know! :0)
